By now, it's possible that some of you have batteries in your miniature clocks that need replacement. The procedure is quite simple and I will be putting up a page to detail the process with pictures. However, if you would like them replaced for you, we can replace them for you for only the cost of the batteries and shipping (if applicable). Please contact us if you are interested in this service.

The November, 2010 issue of New Jersey Municipalities Magazine features a great article on the Milltown Clock Project. We thank them very much for the article and for their permission to reproduce it here. You'll need Adobe Acrobat (free here) to read the article.

Please stop by and see the clock, and read the sponsor's names. See who you know...see who you remember. And, if you're a sponsor, read your name or your family's name with pride. Also, make sure you see the clock at night, when its four faces light up brightly and beautifully!
We've got some great pictures, provided by Doug Gefvert of The Verdin Clock Company, that show our clock in various stages of assembly. We also have great pictures of the installation and of the wonderful and very moving dedication ceremony. If you'd be interested in a complete set of these historically valuable pictures, please let us know. They are fascinating to see, and I suspect that 50 years from now, people who see the clock as a piece of history will be awed by these photos. We've updated the gallery page here so that you can see just a few of them! Let us know what you think!

The Milltown Revitalization Committee, an all-volunteer organization of Milltown residents, sought to undertake a project that would beautify Milltown and inspire a sense of pride and ownership in Milltown's residents. After exploring several projects, the Committee decided on a Victorian-style street clock, which will provide great aesthetic appeal and high visibility at a relatively low cost.
Another important goal of the project was to provide residents with a sense of ownership and investment in the project, and to allow residents to become a part of this important event in the history of Milltown. It was decided that the project would be co-funded by the Revitalization Committee and by private sponsorships, and that residents would have an opportunity for their support to be forever remembered. Read the Newsletter which was sent to all residents, and see our Sponsorship Form for even more details on how you can be a part of this exciting project! You'll need the free Adobe Acrobat Reader for these documents.
The Milltown Clock is located at the intersection of Main Street and Washington Avenue, between the Mill Pond Path and the Milltown Rescue Squad. The site will be further enhanced with landscaping to create a park-like atmosphere which will blend beautifully with the surrounding foliage and the gazebo which stands near the site. The clock will beautify and serve Milltown for generations to come.
Other towns such as Freehold, Cranford, and Woodbridge have made street clocks a focal point of their downtown revitalization programs. The civic pride and community investment that such a high-impact project conveys helps to attract people who share that civic pride, and such projects have been shown to increase property values and business revenues. The Milltown Clock Project is an investment in all of Milltown!
The Milltown Clock has been installed and is keeping time for all of Milltown!
Landscaping and other possible additions will follow! Please enjoy the clock.
